Everything You Need To Know About Accessorizing Your Bathroom!
Red Bathroom Accessories can add that decorator’s touch to so many different bathroom decorating styles. From classic, to modern, almost any decorating theme can benefit from the visual pop that comes from red bathroom accessories. Depending on your intended decorating theme, you can accessorize your bathroom with just a hint of red, perhaps by positioning a single red vase on the edge of the tub, or you can can go all out by adding thick red bathroom rugs, fluffy red bath towels, red cermamic towel holders or even a red chinese lantern. But when used for decorating purposes, red can be a tricky color, so before your start shopping for your red bathroom accessories, take a moment to consider the decorating style you are aiming for and decide just how much red it can handle.
TRADITIONAL BATHROOM ACCESSORIES
Perhaps you are fortunate enough to own a traditionally-styled home built in the early 1900′s. If so, your bathroom probably featurs vintage white tlies, with hexagonal floor tiles and standard horizontal subway tiles. The entire area is usually topped off with a border of black tiles that tie the entire room together. This black-and-white bathroom theme just screams for just a hint of red to liven it up. Consider adding one well-placed photograph or art print that features a deep cherry red as it’s primary (or only) color. Matt the print in white and frame it in a glossy black frame and you have the perfect red focal point for your classic bathroom.
CONTEMPORARY BATHROOM ACCESSORIES
A contemporary bathroom can also benefit from a punch of red. Because contemporary design is based on a minimalist approach, it’s best to keep your red accent pieces at a minimum. Most contemporary designs feature sleek wood cabinetry and low-profile plumbing fixtures, so a beautiful red vase holding a stand of bare branches would be a striking contrast to the rest of the room. This is not the room to add red bathroom rugs or red towels, which would tend to dominate and overpower the modern design of the room, but a pair of bright red chinese paper lanterns positioned over the vanity could add visiual interest without conflicting with the style of the room.
MONOCHROME BATHROOM ACCESSORIES
If you just love red, and would like red to be the dominate color in your bathroom, it would be a great idea to use white for the rest of the room, and then decorate with red bathroom accessories. Consider painting the walls a very light soft gray, then staying with plain white for cabinets, floor tiles, and plumbing fixtures. Now you have created the perfect neutral backdrop for your red bathroom accessories. You can use red bath rugs, red bath towels, and even red ceramic toothbrush holders and soap dispensers, as long as you choose the exact shade of red for each of your accessories. You can choose a cool red with purple and blue undertones, or a nice warm orangey red, but be careful not to mix the two or you’ll have a visual fist-fight taking place in your nice new bathroom.
